Increased Volume of Waste Removed from New York City

Veolia organizes events to collect household hazardous waste in NYC

New York City sought a convenient way for its residents to dispose of household hazardous waste. The city turned to Veolia. Now, five NYC locations — one in each borough — are open for residents to drop off designated household hazardous waste one day each week.

"Two or three dozen people show up at each location every week to drop off their waste. We send a truck and a crew once every other month and take out 20,000 to 30,000 pounds of material.”

— Rick Johnsen, Veolia North America Project Manager.
