Every community is vulnerable to grid-wide outages caused by extreme weather events.
Veolia is working with the City of Trenton to install a microgrid. The project will involve expanding the capacities of an existing thermal grid that is owned and operated by Veolia. The microgrid presents Trenton with a unique opportunity to:
- Provide 100% of the power needed to assembly areas or emergency shelters
- Secure critical data and records
- Serve as a source of clean power
- Spur economic development
- Allow the State to continue to provide essential services
